Layne Staley

Layne Thomas Staley was born on August 22, 1967 in Kirkland, Washington and died on c. April 5, 2002 in Seattle, Washington. Layne Staley was an American musician who served as lead singer and songwriter for the band Alice In Chains. Staley's voice has been described as an "angry angel". The "snarl-to-a-scream" and harmonized vocals with guitarist Jerry Cantrell were a key ingredient of Alice In Chains unique sound. R.I.P.
