
George Denis Patrick Carlin was born on May 12, 1937 in Manhattan, New York and died on June 22, 2008 in Santa Monica, California. George Carlin was American stand-up comedian noted for his black humor as well as his thoughts on politics, the English language, psychology, religion, and various taboo subjects. His material was always new and relevant - never stale. Carlin provided HBO with 14 stand-up comedy specials between 1977 and 2008. He is regarded by many as the greatest standup comic of all time.
