Don Cherry

Donald Stewart "Grapes" Cherry was born on February 5, 1934 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Don Cherry is best known as a hockey commentator for both CBC Television and ESPN. Cherry and Ron MacLean host the "Coach's Corner" intermission segment on the long running sports program and Canadian institution - Hockey Night in Canada. He is known for his outspoken manner, flamboyant dress, and staunch patriotism. Prior to his broadcast career, Cherry was a National Hockey League player and coach. He played one game with the Boston Bruins, and later coached them during the era of Bobby Orr.
