Cheech & Chong

Cheech & Chong are an iconic comedy duo that defined an era with their hilariously irreverent, satirical, counter-culture, no-holds-barred comedy routines. Thomas "Tommy" B. Kin Chong was born on May 24, 1938 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Richard Anthony "Cheech" Marin was born on July 13, 1946 in Los Angeles, California. The two men crossed paths doing improvisational comedy in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and laid the foundation for the comedy team. Cheech & Chong found a wide audience in the 1970s and 1980s with material based upon the era's hippie, free love and their marijuana-influenced humor. They appealed to a youth generation steeped in personal freedom spawned by 1960s-era hippies.
